Aviatrix Elinor Smith was also at the hanger to sign autographs. In 1927 she was the youngest person to receive her pilot's license which was signed by Orville Wright. She knew many of the pioneer flyers such as Jimmy Doolittle, Charles Lindbergh, and Amelia Earhart.
